The imperative is growing for businesses in all sectors, facing significant strategic risks associated with climate change and biodiversity collapse, to build out new capabilities and business models that contribute to accelerated decarbonisation, climate resilience, just transition and environmental regeneration. Climate related strategic risk includes opportunity cost in a context of major market transformations, stimulated by leading European Union initiatives designed to achieve decarbonisation of Europe’s economy and industry at least 6x faster than anything that has been achieved so far.  Proactive climate and sustainability action presents strategic opportunities for all businesses. However, innovation approaches need to be fit for purpose to achieve that.
